As the final days of December slip away, I find myself in a familiar place of reflection and anticipation. Goodbye, 2024. You were quite the whirlwind, weren’t you? And hello, 2025. You stand before me like a blank canvas, full of promise and potential.
This year has been one of growth and challenges. There were moments when I soared higher than I thought possible, and others where I stumbled, feeling the weight of the world. Yet, each experience, whether joyful or painful, shaped me. They taught me lessons I didn’t even know I needed to learn.
I’m reminded of how 2024 began, with resolutions scribbled hastily in my mind. Some I achieved; others fell by the wayside. And that’s okay. Life rarely follows a straight path, and goals have a way of evolving as we do. What matters is that I’ve grown. I’ve taken steps, no matter how small, toward becoming the person I want to be.
As I prepare to welcome 2025, I’m embracing a mindset of hope and positivity. The new year isn’t just a date change; it’s an opportunity. It’s a moment to pause and reset, to dream big and start fresh. To let go of what no longer serves me and make space for what might.
This year, my intentions are simple yet profound. I want to live more fully in the present, cherishing the small joys that each day brings. I want to be kinder to myself and others, and to prioritize what truly matters: love, connection, and growth. I want to work on my self-worth, self-confidence, and self-belief. To accept my body shape and health for how they are, while striving to nurture them with care and compassion.
I also want to improve my writing, especially the stories and poetry that mean so much to me. Allowing myself to believe I might actually be okay at it, while continuing to strive to grow and refine my craft. To recognise that people may actually read them, and if they don’t, that’s okay too. In truth, I often find it challenging to believe that my writing is worthy of anyone's time. However, I remind myself that what truly matters is the joy and fulfillment the process brings me.
To anyone reading this, I encourage you to reflect on your own journey through 2024. Celebrate your victories, big and small. Acknowledge the challenges you faced and the resilience you showed. And as you step into 2025, carry with you the lessons you’ve learned and the dreams that light your way.
Here’s to a new year. To hope, to possibilities, and to the endless potential that lies ahead. Goodbye, 2024. You’ve been quite the chapter. And hello, 2025, I can’t wait to see what we create together.
