Farewell Gentle May.

Farewell, gentle May, with your blossoms so bright,
Your days bathed in gold and your soft, fleeting light.
The petals you scattered now drift to the ground,
A memory whispered, a soft, fleeting sound.

The lilacs have faded, their fragrance grows thin,
As summer steps softly, her warmth rushing in.
The breeze that once carried your tender embrace
Now hints of the sun’s ever-glorious face.

You painted the world with such delicate grace,
With blooms on the hedges and light’s soft embrace.
You lingered in meadows, you danced on the breeze,
A month full of promise, a whisper of peace.

The rivers still glisten, though calmer, they seem,
Reflecting the beauty of May’s fleeting dream.
Your time, like the dawn, slips beyond our embrace,
But your echoes remain in each sunlit place.

Farewell, lovely May, we will cherish your stay,
The laughter of springtime, the soft skies of gray.
For though you must go, your sweet spirit will stay,
As summer steps forward, we’ll treasure your May.
