Welcome May.

Oh, welcome, dear May, with your soft, tender light,
Your blossoms awake after long winter's night.
The meadows are painted in green and in gold,
As spring whispers secrets the flowers retold.

The trees stretch their arms, dressed in garments of green,
Their branches like lace, a most delicate scene.
The sun hums a tune, warm and gentle and bright,
While breezes play softly and birds take to flight.

The rivers run laughing, the hills softly sigh,
Beneath a blue canvas, so endless, so high.
Each morning brings petals, dew-kissed and alive,
And all of the earth seems to hum and to thrive.

Oh, May, you arrive like a breath fresh and sweet,
With lilacs and roses at each cornered street.
You scatter your petals, your fragrance so fine,
A promise of summer in each tender sign.

So welcome, dear May, let us dance in your glow,
As the gardens awake and the rivers do flow.
Your beauty reminds us, in all things anew,
That life blooms again, as the seasons renew.
