I’ve been crushing badly over two patterns throughout September.
They are both very different but oh so very beautiful.
Both are crochet alongs, one that has started already and one that starts next week.
I’ve brought my yarn kit for one and saving like crazy for the other, while secretly hoping that we’ll have a lotto win or my hubby will gift it to me.
For now though, I’m going to only showcase one of these elegant blankets, my reason being, I just can’t stop looking at it. Everything is just so perfect, from the yarn, yep it’s made with my all time favourite yarn, “Scheepjes Stone Washed.” The colours are soothing, the squares are timeless, the border, omg the border is stunning but the warm feeling I get is just such a wonderful feeling. It’s almost romantic, if you know what I mean.
So let me get down to business, stop waffling and tell you all about it. But firstly here she is in all her gorgeousness.❤️
Sandra Paul the talent behind, “Cherryheart Crochet”, designed it and it’s called
Her inspiration came from her surroundings while she walked her dog Bertie.
And her goal was to make a beautiful and relaxing blanket, which would be soothing and fun.
And boy didn’t she deliver, it’s all those things and so much more.
Nature’s Walk Cal, started on the 24th September and finishes on the 12th November 2019.
The Cal aka Crochet Along, is currently on week two, so plenty of time to either order a delicious yarn pack or raid your stash and catch up.
You can download parts one and two here, but please don’t forget to log into your Ravelry account for them to be saved to your library.
There are three yarn packs available from Black sheep Wools, in colours –
Wild Hedgerow, Open Fields and Sweet Meadow.
“Wild Hedgerow” and “Open field” are both made with Scheepjes Stone Washed and “Sweet Meadow” is made from Stylecraft Bellissima and Bambino.
You all know how much I love Scheepjes Stone Washed, it is just everything I love about a yarn, from colour to texture to stitch definition.
I haven’t used Stylecraft Bellissima or Bambino before but I’ve heard and read great reviews on it.
My favourite colourway is the “Wild Hedgerow” but the two other colours are just as stunning and the Sweet Meadow pack is great for those of us who unfortunately have to stick to a budget.
You can find out more about the yarn packs and purchase them by visiting Black Sheep Wool or click on the links above (The words in gold)
The added bonus of buying a yarn pack, is you receive six bonus patterns to add to the original “Nature’s Walk” Blanket, Crochet charts for each of those six squares and a layout guild for the 12 square version of the blanket.
Please don’t fret, I believe the 6 extra patterns will be released later next year, so no one will miss out. 😊
The square patterns are written in UK crochet terms with US terms given to help you translate if you are only use to working in US terms, like me.
I’m seeing this as an extra bonus, I can scub up on my UK terminology, opening up my skill levels.
There are lots of ways to join in the fun with other, build new friendships and get help if needed from all the talented hookers out there.
If you’ve fallen head over heels, as I have, please pop on over to Sandra’s website, cherryheart.co.uk, where you can find all information and links.
Whilst your there, have a nose around and see all Sandra’s outstanding talent. You can also find all her patterns on Ravelry, by clicking here.
I must say, what a privilege it is to be able to share Sandra’s breathtaking blanket with you and thank you so much Sandra for allowing me to do so, your kind messages and for the use of your gorgeous photos.
Have a hooktastic day.
Too-da-loo.
