Seriously how fast are the weeks passing by. It only seems like yesterday I sat down and wrote the last crochet crush post.
It’s been super hard picking between two different patterns this month. Both are equally gorgeous but very different techniques.
It was impossible to choose between the two so I will share one now and the other next month.
In truth it’s been mega hard to look at crochet pattern over the last few weeks as I have a shoulder injury which has stopped me picking up my hook. I’m not sure if crochet has added to my injury but it isn’t helping me recover as quickly as I would like. How I miss crocheting but needs must, I have to give my body time to heel but you can beat your bottom dollar that I will be making these two breathtaking patterns as soon as my shoulder allows.
The first pattern that caught my heart is Dragana Savkov Bajic from Dada’s Place, new pattern “Into the woods blanket.”
It’s simple yet stylish and just so damn cute .
Isn’t it just the loveliest blanket you ever did see.
Into the woods blanket pattern is written in US crochet terms and is worked back and forth in rows.
It can be made with any type of yarn your heart desires and you can make it any size you wish. Into the woods blanket, is absolutely perfect for a baby blanket especially as you can match it up with Dragana’s Wendy Shawl, which you read about here and here. I am totally smitten with both patterns. They are just incredibly dreamy.
Dragana used Alize Angora Gold – color beige no. 599 yarn, which is an 100 g/550 m (3.58 Oz/601 yds) 80% Acrylic, 20% Wool, yarn which is very soft and warm, perfect for a baby blanket.
I personally haven’t tried this yarn myself but I hope to one day soon.
If you decide to make “Into the woods blanket” in the same yarn as Dragana, you will need,
● 3 skeins of Alize Angora Gold beige no. 599
● approximately 250g or 1375m for blanket and 15g or 85m for tassels.
for a 85 x 67cm (33” x 26”) blanket without tassels.
I think it would be lovely made out of Scheepjes Softfun which has the most delicious colours to choose from and is double knit weight. It’s unbelievable soft and stitches up a dream. I love this yarn. 💓
How I wish I could make a start on mine.
