She’s only gone and done it again. She never disappoints!!! Can you guess who I’m talking about?
Yes you guessed right, the one and only Tinna from tinnacrochet.com. Tinna the QUEEN of mosaic crochet, has just released a new pattern, a new crochet along and it’s mind blowingly beautiful.

It’s called the Queen CAL (rather fitting, don’t you agree) The Queen Cal consists of 6 parts and will take place between September 18th and October 23rd, 2020, of course you can join in any time and crochet along at your own speed with no pressure to complete the pattern within the above date. After all crochet is our way of rest and relaxation. It should be enjoyed and not rushed, well unless you have set yourself a deadline.😩

The Queen Cal is a paid CAL and is available at half price during the CAL, $5. It will change that to full price, $10, on November 1st. You can purchase the Queen CAL pattern here.

Make sure you download the introduction part as well as the special pdf for the Queen CAL SSDK kits. Yes you read that correctly, there are yarn kits available, Whoop Whoop. 🧶 Aren’t they just dreamy!

The introduction pdf will give you all yarn stats and a list of retailers that offer the Queen kits for sale. They are absolutely stunning and I’m sure you will have a hard time picking which one you wish to purchase. Of course you can always pick your own colours or use up your scrap yarn. No matter what you decide, it’s going to look incredible because Tinna has definitely stepped up a level with the Queen Cal, unbelievable right, her patterns are all exceptional and the best out there. They are jam packed with information, clearly written, so how can they be beat? Somehow Tinna does just that. You truly won’t be disappointed.

There is a lot more than what meets the eye when it comes to The Queen CAL.
Tinna wrote on Ravelry
“I sat down at the end of last year and decided I just wanted to go back to the basics. Just some simple sequences, working a core shape in mosaic crochet. Something continuous that would lead me along while working. I went with the classic harlequin pattern and had great fun playing with these diamonds. MY Queen is also what I like to call an interactive pattern. The basic design is a diamond grid that is beautiful and classy on its own, the Simple Queen. Then you have a variation where there are some pattern fillings preset in the diamond grid, the Traditional Queen. And finally, there is the Adventurous Queen, where you can design your own version of the Queen, by arranging various different patterns that are included here, inside the diamond grid. For that version I include a diamond grid that is blank inside all diamonds and you can then draw your own pattern fillings onto your interactive basic grid!”

The Queen CAL pattern comes in two predetermined sizes when working it horizontally (widthwise) with DK weight yarn,
Small: approximately 95 cm wide and 125 cm long, including the border. (38” x 50”)
Large: approximately 150 cm wide and 2 m long, including the border. (60” x 80”)
And one predetermined size when working it vertically (lengthwise) with DK yarn:
Large: approximately 150 cm wide and 2 m long, including the border. (60” x 80”)
You can also use these same predetermined sizes but work your blanket with either finer or thicker yarn and that way you can get smaller or larger versions of these same size guides. It is is a continuous pattern, that is worked flat in repeats, so you can decide for yourself on both the width and the length of your blanket and make it perfect for your needs. That’s what’s so great about Tinnas patterns, they really do work with your own customisation.

The Queen CAL will be hosted in my Facebook Group, Tinna’s Crochet Club, where you will be able to get lots of support, inspiration.
