2020 the year that…..

What a roller coaster of a year.
Even though it was a year that will go down in history as one of the most devastating year, great things have happened to.
Instead of looking back with negativity, I’m looking at the positives and my achievements.

2020 was the year, I spent quality time with my Hubby and gorgeous boys. What could be better than that.

It was the year, I made 7 blankets, numerous hats and two blankets that are works in progress. Not bad going.

It was the year, we turned our camper Phillippe into our home from home and even got to spend a few nights away in him.
Ok we have slept in him outside our house more than we traveled in him but that was a blessing in itself. Any time together as husband and wife is good time spent.

2020 was the year, I set myself a personal goal which I’m happy to say I somehow managed to achieve it and even though I haven’t achieved fully what I wanted to, I took the first painful step to better myself and hopefully my health. I’m pretty chuffed with myself and determined to continue and grow throughout 2021.

It was the year, I finally managed to read a book. How I’ve missed reading and the joy of escaping life for a while. I haven’t been able to read a book for over 8 years due to brain fog. I would read a page and forget what I had read before I had even finished a page. Even though it may seem like nothing to other, it was possibly one of my biggest achievement this year. 📖

2020 was also the year, we worked our butts off and completed phase three of our garden make over, Renovation Coffee Deck and I love everything about it. I can’t wait for those spring mornings and summer days were we can recharge our batteries while drinking coffee in the sunshine. ☀️

It was the year I began to learn how to use power tool. It felt amazing to be able to help out my Hubby. I’m sure I was more a hindrance than a help but boy I loved every minute. From a child who was never interested in learning because my brain doesn’t seem to want to play fair and remember the information it’s meant to adsorb, my need to learn as an adult is exciting, although a little frustrating at times.
I hope by the end of this new year, I’ll be able to master all our tools and confidently build something all by myself. 🔨

But the best thing that happened in 2020 was, I got to say the words, “I will” to my amazing Husband, when we  renewed our wedding vows on Christmas Eve.
And although we weren’t surrounded by all our friends and family, it was pretty damn perfect. 👰🏻‍♀️🤵‍♂️

Here’s to making the best of the new year ahead of us. It won’t be easy with Covid biting at our ankles but as long as we have, love in our hearts, family at our side and air in our lungs we can make it a year full of memories and achievements.

Happy 2021.

Too-da-loo for now.
